Worthington Fire Department Honored after 1,000th Smoke Alarm Installation

For years now the Worthington Fire Department has partnered with the Greater Columbus Chapter of the American Red Cross to promote fire safety education, and to install smoke alarms in the homes of Worthington residents.

Through that partnership over 1,000 smoke alarms have been installed in homes throughout the city, and to recognize this milestone Greater Columbus Chapter Executive Director Cory Paul, Regional Disaster Officer Ken Robinson, Disaster Program Manager Atticus Garden and Disaster Program Specialist Lauren Froehlich visited the Worthington fire station to present a certificate commemorating the accomplishment.

“Through this partnership we have seen the impact up close on the community and the ability to help families prepare for situations they hopefully won’t endure, and to recover when tragedy strikes,” executive director Paul said during the ceremony.

If you need new smoke alarms in your home you can call 1-844-207-4509 to set up an installation.
